While it retains the iconic branching structure that hobbyists love, its deep, charcoal-black coloration sets it apart from standard brown Spiderwood. This unique variety is the perfect choice for creating a high-contrast driftwood aquarium, offering a striking "dark forest" aesthetic that makes the greens of your aquatic plants pop.

Preparation and Care
A little extra prep goes a long way in maintaining its stunning appearance.
- Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the piece to remove any dust or debris from transit.
- The Soaking Phase: This wood is lightweight and will float upon initial use. We recommend soaking it in a bucket until it is fully waterlogged, or weighing it down with heavier rocks.
- The "White Fuzz" Phenomenon: Don't be surprised if a harmless white fuzz appears on the wood shortly after it's submerged. This is a natural biofilm that your shrimp and snails will happily graze on until it disappears.
- Tannin Release: Spiderwood releases fewer tannins than other aquarium driftwood, but a quick 1-hour boil will still help it sink faster and keep your water clear. You can also reduce this effect through consistent water changes or through the addition of Aquario Neo Carbon Bag
Important note: We recommend rinsing wood thoroughly before adding it to an established aquarium. If you prefer, you may also boil the wood for at least 1–2 hours to help release tannins.
How to Acclimate Your Fish
Allow the sealed bag to float in your aquarium for approximately 15–20 minutes to equalize the temperature. Open the bag and gradually add small amounts of aquarium water over the next 15–20 minutes. Gently transfer the fish into the aquarium.
Important: Do not pour shipping water into your aquarium. Turn off aquarium lights and allow your new fish time to adjust to its new environment.
